Sitting on desk with laptop & coffee, in sleepwear, playing favorite track, seems to be a dream come true?
But that isn’t the reality for all..!!
The pandemic has brought us in a situation where nothing seems to get implemented in a pre-planned manner. Salary cuts, layoff, leave without pay are some common terminologies we hear from corporate.
Most of us will agree that working from home is a 24*7 job, it doesn’t mean that you are continuously working for 24 hours in a day but you engage yourself most of the time in office work, it may not be physical but you are always thinking about your next task at work.
THE RIGHT WAY
People are aware about the current economic situations , where jobs are affected the most & they are concerned about the stability of their job and switching to a different organization might seem like a nightmare to them.
The comfort of having a regular monthly income gives them an assurance which they are ready to trade for long working hours.
My question is to the top management, is this the right way of treating your employees as if they are robots???
THINKING IT FROM A BROAD MIND RATHER THAN A NARROW ONE
Is the top management in corporate neglecting that the human body needs a particular amount of rest both physical as well as mental?
We are totally aware about the fact that if some of us raise these issues to the management then also there are high chances that they will not be resolved.
Then what next!!! How should one react??
Firstly we have to accept the current scenario of the economy which is getting worst day by day & how tough it is for every individual to sustain in their jobs. But at the same time one should know his/her worth.
We have to build up ourselves in such a way that we can bear some extra pain in a smarter way. There is mixed thinking gathering in our life regarding jobs, can/should we continue…
In this pandemic situation which can’t be skipped, therefore we have to plan something that can transform the present situation not very favorable but at least better.
FACTORS AFFECTING WHILE WORKING FROM HOME AND THEIR RESOLUTION
When in office we have a work station which always indicates us to work more productively. The same should be applied while working remotely.
It maybe not possible for everyone to have a full structured work station but one can have proper desk or can choose a corner of their home where one feel comfortable & soothing.
We should try to schedule our day by making a to-do-list and prioritizing our work. One should try to finish off their work within the set time. Yes every time it may not be possible to complete a task in a given time frame but that is exceptional and can be managed accordingly.
When going to office we all have a set routine before leaving. We should try to stick to the same routine only so that when we start our office hours we are ready to give our best.
Work from home doesn’t mean to work 24*7. We should take out time for ourselves & perform our day-to-day activity so that our personal & professional life is well balanced.
It is common phenomena – ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. So a break is equally important to keep a proper balance in life. One should take out time for things he/she likes to do, it can be watching a movie or playing certain games; these activities will definitely boost up your energy & make you more effective in every aspect of your life.
It is we who are responsible for our career & we are the ultimate decision maker of our life. Almost everyone is well aware about their qualities & abilities.
This pandemic is a temporary situation, we should stay strong together and control our nerves; sky is the limit and the world is yours.
